How to repair swelling in polymer lithium batteries?

1、 Preparation work

Find a ventilated location and prepare polymer lithium batteries, scissors, ticket holders, toothpicks, 705 transparent silicone rubber, transparent tape, syringes, and infusion needles with a plastic tube (must be the smallest size) for processing;

2、 Evacuation preparation

Connect the syringe to the infusion needle, hold the needle in hand and insert it into a suitable position at the seal of the lithium battery. Then, fix the needle with tape and keep it in place. Use a toothpick to take a small amount of 705 silicone rubber and apply it near the needle to prevent air leakage.

3、 Extract gas

Pull the syringe to extract gas from the battery. After filling one tube, clamp the plastic tube of the needle with a ticket clip, separate the syringe from the needle, and discharge the gas. Then connect the syringe to the needle and repeat the operation.

4、 Sealing

After multiple operations, the aluminum film of the battery packaging will gradually tighten and adhere tightly to the battery body, and the battery will also become very hard. After the gas cannot be extracted and the inside of the battery approaches a vacuum state, clamp the plastic tube behind the needle with a clip, cut a small piece of (1cm square) transparent tape with scissors, stick it to the needle hole, press it tightly, and then remove the needle. The operation is completed.

5、 Quality inspection

Due to the very small pinholes and the sealing of silicone rubber and transparent tape, gas will not enter the battery again. After a few hours of curing the silicone rubber, test the lithium battery. First, fully charge and discharge it with a small current several times. If there is no longer any problem of bubbling, the treatment is completed.

Lithium battery activation method:

When using lithium batteries, it should be noted that after being left for a period of time, the battery enters a sleep state. At this time, the capacity is lower than the normal value, and the usage time is also shortened. But lithium batteries are easy to activate, as they can be activated and restored to normal capacity after 3-5 normal charging and discharging cycles.
