The British OXIS Energy Company recently announced that it has successfully developed a lithium sulfur battery with an energy density of 425Wh/kg. At present, this battery has been introduced and applied to HAPS high-altitude satellites. The company aims to achieve an energy density of 500Wh/kg by the end of 2019.

At present, the energy density of the battery pack using this battery is 300Wh/kg, and the target by the end of 2019 is 400Wh/kg.

This battery is mainly used in large unmanned aerial vehicles and other fields. In the future, if you want to apply it to the field of electric vehicles, there are still some problems to be solved, including inquiry cycle life, power output, charging time, etc. However, at present, OXIS has obtained a LiSFAB funded project, which aims to provide battery power, cycle life and other aspects of performance.
