UPS uninterruptible power supply system, and the use of rectifier in UPS power supply. UPS contains energy storage equipment, with rectifier and inverter as the primary components, and supplies constant voltage and constant frequency UPS for monitoring system, automatic instrument, remote communication system and other equipment in the substation. It is mainly used in computer network system, power electronic equipment system, pressure transmitter and other equipment to provide stable and uninterrupted power supply for equipment.
1、 UPS system composition
From the perspective of basic application principle, UPS power supply is a power supply protection device with energy storage device, inverter as an important component, and stable voltage and frequency output. It is mainly composed of rectifier, battery, inverter and static switch.
1. Rectifier
The rectifier charger can convert the AC power of the mains or oil engine into DC power to supply energy for the inverter and battery. Its performance directly affects the input index of UPS. It has two important purposes, one is to convert AC power into DC power and supply it to load equipment or inverter after filtering, and the other is to provide a charging voltage for the battery.
2. Battery
The battery is a device used by UPS to store electric energy. It is composed of several batteries in series. Its capacity determines the duration of its discharge. Its important function is to convert electric energy into chemical energy and store it in the battery when the mains power is normal; In case of mains failure, the chemical energy is converted into electrical energy and supplied to the inverter or load.
3. Inverter
The inverter is used to convert the rectified DC power of the mains or the DC power of the battery into AC power with relatively stable voltage and frequency. Its performance directly affects the output performance index of UPS. The inverter has high working frequency, small filter size, low noise and high reliability.
4. Static switch
Connect a pair of reverse-parallel fast thyristors as the components of UPS UPS when performing the switching operation from mains bypass power supply to inverter power supply. When the UPS power supply needs to perform the switching operation from AC bypass power supply to inverter power supply, there will be a short time when the two AC power supplies overlap to supply power to the load. Static switch can shorten the conversion time to less than milliseconds, even 100 μ Within s, but with large loss.
2、 Application of rectifier in UPS power supply
The main reason for the low input power factor of UPS is the circuit structure and working mode of the input part. Modern rectifier chargers are divided into two types: step-down type and step-up type. The step-down type is mainly used when the voltage of UPS battery pack is lower than a certain value of the input AC peak voltage, while the step-up type is mainly used when the voltage of UPS battery pack is higher than the input AC peak voltage.
Rectifier is a device that converts alternating current into direct current, which can be used for power supply devices and detecting radio signals. The rectifier can be made of vacuum tube, pilot tube, solid state silicon semiconductor diode, mercury arc, etc. On the contrary, a set of devices that convert direct current into alternating current is called "inverter".
The purpose of the rectifier is to supply power to the inverter after rectifying the 380V AC power from the security power supply. It should bear all the loads of the unit that can not be interrupted under normal conditions. In addition, the rectifier is also used for voltage stabilization and isolation to prevent the battery interference of the auxiliary system from invading the load circuit.
The UPS lies in its uninterruptible power supply capability. When the mains AC input is normal, the UPS converts the AC power into DC power and then reverses the DC power into stable and impurity-free AC power for the later stage load. Once the mains AC input is abnormal, the UPS will start the standby energy-battery, and the rectifier circuit of the UPS will be turned off. Accordingly, the DC power of the battery will be converted into stable and impurity-free AC power, which will continue to be used by the subsequent load.
The above is the system composition of UPS uninterruptible power supply and the use of rectifier in UPS power supply. The voltage stabilizing function of UPS uninterruptible power supply system is usually completed by rectifier. The rectifier device uses silicon controlled rectifier or high-frequency switching rectifier, which has the function of controlling the output amplitude according to the change of external power, so that when the external power changes, the output amplitude is basically unchanged.
