How to calculate the charging time of a rechargeable battery
Most battery capacity sizes are indicated on the battery, measured in milliamps, with larger values indicating greater capacity. Meanwhile, chargers are generally labeled with charging current, also measured in milliamps.
1. When the charging current is ≤ 5% of the battery capacity: charging time (h)=battery capacity (mAH) * 1.3/charging current (mA)
2. When the charging current is greater than 5% of the battery capacity and less than or equal to 10%: charging time (h)=battery capacity (mAH) * 1.5/charging current (mA)
3. When the charging current is greater than 10% of the battery capacity and less than or equal to 15%: charging time (h)=battery capacity (mAH) * 1.3/charging current (mA)
4. When the charging current is greater than 15% of the battery capacity and less than or equal to 20%: charging time (h)=battery capacity (mAH) * 1.2/charging current (mA)
5. When the charging current is greater than 20% of the battery capacity: charging time (h)=battery capacity (mAH) * 1.1/charging current (mA)
How long is the optimal charging time for lithium-ion batteries
Generally, after 2-3 hours, the phone displays that the battery is fully charged, and then another half hour is spent using a trickle to ensure that the phone is indeed fully charged. Nowadays, lithium-ion batteries are activated and aged at the factory, and users do not need to charge them three times for 12 hours. A professionally trained salesperson will explain to you that overcharging and eating too much is not beneficial.
1. Many people are used to charging their phones when they go to bed at night, but when they wake up in the morning, they find that they are still not fully charged, so they recharge them again. This approach is not appropriate. Charging a phone for too long can cause a lot of damage to the battery, and when the phone is fully charged, it will automatically discharge and then slowly charge, continuing this process. Therefore, there is no need to continue charging.
2. It is widely believed that charging a phone after completely draining its battery is better for the phone's battery, but this is completely wrong and may even cause the phone to fail to charge. When the phone shows low battery and needs to be charged, simply plug in the charger, which is better for the phone's battery.
3. Some people think that newly purchased phones need to be charged for 12 hours and charged three times, but this idea is wrong. Previously, lithium-ion batteries did need to be charged in this way to be fully activated, but now newly purchased phones can be fully charged after the original battery is used up.
4. Lithium ion batteries undergo trickle charging at least once a month, which means slowly charging until fully charged. Many battery software will remind you to do so
5. Charging mobile phones nowadays is quite simple. You can charge them after use, and stop charging them when they are fully charged, which is convenient and fast. Try to use power banks as little as possible, although there is no exact data on how much damage power banks can cause to mobile phone batteries, it is still better to use them sparingly.
