What is an A-grade battery cell?

A-grade battery cells are usually ordered directly by the factory using the battery cells to the battery cell factory. The battery cell factory arranges production based on its own production capacity and technical capabilities, and through a series of battery cell manufacturing processes, ultimately produces the battery and delivers it to the customer. Before placing an order, battery manufacturers usually communicate parameters such as battery capacity, thickness, length, width, etc; So the battery made entirely according to the standards of the order is called product A.

The term "A product" is most commonly used in polymer lithium-ion batteries. 18650 is generally not referred to as "imported 18650", "domestically produced 18650", and "disassembled 18650".

What is a B-grade battery cell?

Any factory producing products will inevitably have a defect rate. So this defect rate determines the vitality of a factory. In the lithium-ion battery industry, there won't be a significant difference between first line lithium-ion battery factories and third line lithium-ion battery factories solely based on technology, ingredients, etc. However, in the production process and manufacturing process, the difference in defect rates is significant. First line manufacturers can achieve around 2%, while second and third line manufacturers may achieve 5% -10%. It is precisely because of this defect rate that B product is created.

In fact, the B product only has a slight difference in capacity, or the length, width, and thickness do not meet the order requirements, but the performance is definitely not discounted, but the price is cheaper than the A product. Therefore, there are many manufacturers who sometimes sell the B product directly, but the capacity is slightly lower. In addition, product A is generally stored in the warehouse if it has not been shipped for 3-6 months, also known as product B, although this is just a common term.

What is a C-type battery cell?

C product indeed means that if B product batteries are stored in the warehouse for more than 8 months and still not shipped, they can be called C product. C product batteries are most likely to experience package expansion due to long-term storage, self discharge, and aging of dust and moisture. There are times when inflation occurs during charging, as well as when there is leakage or short circuit. C-grade batteries are generally only about 50% -60% of A-grade batteries of the same model, and good ones can reach up to 70%. The safety of C-grade batteries is poor, and in addition, C-grade batteries are not durable. After several cycles of charging, their performance greatly decreases.

When purchasing batteries, the first choice is A grade batteries, but how to distinguish A grade batteries is indeed a big problem because you cannot understand it at all, which requires the use of lithium-ion battery charging and discharging detection and capacity division equipment.
