New energy manufacturing enterprises and battery suppliers should be "grasshoppers" in an industrial chain. However, recently, due to the fire of electric vehicles, Weima Automobile, a new force in car building, and Gushen, a battery supplier, have been mutually involved.
It started a few days ago when a netizen sent a picture to expose that a Vima EX5 caught fire and spontaneously ignited. EX5 is the first product launched by Weima, which has just finished listing in the first half of the year and will enter the mass delivery period at the end of this year. At this juncture, there was a "fire", which was undoubtedly a great crisis for Weima, and the public opinion was also in an uproar.
Soon, the official released an investigation statement. In the official statement, Weima said that the fire incident occurred in Chengdu Weima Automobile Research Institute. The starting train was an early trial installation vehicle that had undergone multiple destructive tests. It had entered the disassembly process, and the circuit protection device and some parts had been removed, but it was not able to complete all the disassembly in time, so the electrical components were short circuited and caused a fire.
Although Weima said that it would carry out hidden danger investigation on scrapped vehicles, review and clean up all scrapped trial assembly vehicles to avoid similar situations, and promised that "the safety performance of formal mass production vehicles is higher than the national standard". But public opinion seems not satisfied with this.
Presumably, the trial assembly vehicle should have been powered off before it was scrapped. How could the powered off vehicle cause a short circuit? Later, Weima issued a second official statement. Compared with the first statement, the second statement was more detailed about the cause of the incident and related information about vehicles.

At this point, the above doubts have basically come to an end. After all, the new energy vehicle with Gushen battery also had a fire in June this year. With the previous "background", this Weima statement is reasonable in the eyes of consumers, and the idea of replacing the battery also dispels some consumers' distrust to some extent.
It was originally thought that this "fire gate" incident would gradually subside. Unexpectedly, a few days after the incident, Weima's battery supplier Gushen could not help but issued a statement. In the statement, Gushen said that Weima did not notify Gushen immediately after the incident, and the latter learned about it from the media. Gushen said that he hoped to send relevant personnel to the site, but Weima refused.
Because it has been several days since the accident happened, and there are too many variables, Gushen said that it was "unable to make an accurate judgment of the truth". At the same time, the company also said that it learned from media reports that netizens exposed the battery nameplate box at the scene of the accident that the battery carried by the self igniting vehicle was not produced by Zhejiang Gushen. The author also saw a group of photos of the battery nameplate box after being bitten by fire on the Internet, but the information displayed on it was not Zhejiang Gushen. However, according to the report of Nandu, insiders of Weima said that these pictures were false information.
At this point, Weima has dealt with the vehicles involved, and it may be difficult for the outside world to really know whether the real cause of the electric vehicle fire is the manufacturer's problem, the battery manufacturer's problem, or other problems. However, the negative impact of this event may be difficult to eliminate in the short term. Even though both parties involved try their best to clarify for themselves, vehicle manufacturers and suppliers are always on the same line. No matter who is responsible, the reputation and goodwill of both parties will be damaged. However, consumers and the whole new energy automobile manufacturers, especially the new car making forces, may be more injured.
It is said that consumers are God, but in this "war of words", consumers are actually the most vulnerable group. The so-called "truth" may be a false image, and the advantages of new energy vehicle safety and environmental protection may therefore be considered as "illusion". Under the background of spending hundreds of billions of funds and cultivating together for more than three years, the industrial chain and market of new energy vehicles are still very fragile.
