Volkswagen Group stated that by 2030, it will work with partners to establish six battery factories in Europe to ensure battery supply.

It is reported that the first of the six battery factories will be a battery factory in cooperation with Northvolt, located in Sherevteo, Sweden, and will be used to produce high-end batteries. This production plan will start in 2023 and gradually expand the annual production to 40GWh, which will be heavily used for the luxury models under the group.

In addition, Volkswagen's battery factory located in Salzgit will start producing standard cells from 2025 and carry out research and development innovation in process, design, and chemical composition. The annual production of the factory will also reach 40GWh. The refocusing of this production plan will enhance the group's economies of scale while reducing the complexity of production processes. Renewable energy will serve as the power source for the two first super plants to be built. At present, Volkswagen Group is considering potential site selection and partner matters for the remaining four factories.

The solution for Volkswagen Group is to build CAMS Camus charging stations with FAW, JAC, and Star Charging. Volkswagen defines Kaimeisi charging station as an excellent charging solution with zero anxiety. The goal of Kaimeisi in 2021 is to establish over 500 charging stations and over 6000 charging stations in 8 cities.

By 2025, Volkswagen hopes to establish over 17000 charging stations in China, all starting from 120kW, including 180kW and even 300kW super fast charging stations, covering most cities in China.

Regarding the Chinese market, Dr. Feng Sihan, CEO of Volkswagen Group (China), has also given an ambitious number: by 2025, 15 models of various brands under Volkswagen will be produced locally based on the MEB platform. At that time, Volkswagen's electric models will account for 35% of the group's models in China, and the total annual delivery of new energy vehicles will reach 1.5 million; By 2030, the total number of pure electric vehicles owned by Volkswagen in China will reach 12 million.
