The expert stated that electric vehicles have high waterproof requirements, and if they reach the IP67 waterproof level, the safety of electric vehicles will be guaranteed. If the waterproof level of electric vehicles does not meet the requirements, the waterproof effect of electric vehicles will be weakened after long-term use, and rainwater, road water, etc. may corrode the battery system, leading to battery short circuits. The expert told China Automotive News that the battery short circuit caused by the weakened waterproof performance of electric vehicles does not occur inside the battery, but in the battery pack, leading to a combustion accident.

The expert said that achieving a higher waterproof level will increase the cost of electric vehicles and weaken the price competitiveness of products. The expert gave an example to a reporter from China Automotive News, stating that the price of using wiring harnesses in batteries is about 1200 yuan, while the price of ordinary wiring harnesses is about 500 yuan, which is more than twice the price difference between the two.
At present, the prices of A0 or A00 level electric vehicles in the market are relatively low, which is related to the company's special emphasis on cost savings.
