Just as power companies are familiar with large-scale battery energy storage projects, Tesla may be even more so. The world's largest battery energy storage system is the Hornsdale Power Reserve System in South Australia, which is manufactured by Tesla and commonly known as the "Tesla Big Battery". The initial power generation capacity of the project was 100 MW/129 MW, but it has since been expanded to 150 MW/193.5 MW. If the Moslandin battery project can be completed on time, then the two largest energy storage lithium-ion projects on Earth will use Tesla batteries - and the competition is not particularly fierce.
