"Monocell" has the meaning of "single cell" in biology, while "cell" generally refers to "cell" in battery industry terminology, so "Monocell" can be understood as "single cell" to some extent, which may mean that Apple's power battery will adopt "single cell" configuration.

Of course, for now, whether Apple will adopt the revolutionary "single cell" design is still under speculation. In terms of battery materials, Apple is considering using lithium iron phosphate. This is also the material used by the current domestic Tesla Model 3 entry-level battery. Its nature has better safety than other lithium-ion batteries such as ternary lithium batteries, and is less prone to thermal runaway.
