The reasons for the decrease in capacity of lithium-ion batteries
1. Aging and decline of battery cells.
2. Different self discharge rates lead to imbalanced battery capacity in series, ultimately resulting in reduced capacity and durability of lithium-ion batteries.
3. During the use and charging and discharging process of the battery, sulfurization phenomenon may occur, which affects the battery capacity. Battery vulcanization is manifested as: the battery itself has a low voltage, it will be fully charged after a while, and it will disappear after a discharge. The softening of the battery is manifested by the turbidity and blackening of the liquid inside the battery. The battery capacity decreases, and over time and over time, the lead powder falls off.
4. Improper charging during summer and winter seasons. The charging voltage of the battery is inversely proportional to the ambient temperature, so when the temperature is high in summer, overcharging of lithium-ion batteries can cause the battery to lose water, resulting in bulging and deformation. Undercharging in winter leads to a decrease in driving mileage.
There are two common methods for repairing the capacity decline of lithium-ion batteries: freezing method and overcharging and discharging method.
1. Freezing method
Wrap the old lithium-ion battery of the phone that will automatically shut down tightly with cling film, and try to wrap it as snugly as possible. There are three layers inside and outside to ensure that the battery is in a vacuum state. Then, wrap three layers of newspaper outside the cling film to completely seal the lithium-ion battery. Put it into the freezer layer of the refrigerator, and after 48 hours, take out the battery and remove the six layers of paper film wrapped around it one by one. The lithium-ion battery did not experience surface expansion or deformation due to freezing. After cooling for a period of time, then charge.
2. Overcharging method
Thoroughly discharge the nearly scrapped lithium-ion battery, then recharge and activate the battery. The detailed method is to perform deep discharge on the phone, which is to achieve a deeper level of recharging by depleting internal energy, and this requires some unconventional methods. Connect the phone to a low voltage small light bulb using a specific device, and the battery's internal power will be transferred to the small light bulb until it is fully discharged. A mobile phone needs to slowly deplete its electrical energy through a lower voltage. Under normal circumstances, if the rated voltage of the phone is below 3.6 volts after being connected, it will automatically shut down. After discharging, the recharged phone battery can be used for a longer period of time.
