If the charger has no output, the fault location can be determined based on the illumination of the power indicator light. There are two types of maintenance for this type of electric vehicle charger. If the power indicator light is not on, it indicates that the charger input is open or the switch circuit is not working.

If the power indicator light is on normally, but the charging indicator light is not on or does not change color when the battery is connected, it indicates that the high-voltage switch circuit is working, and the fault occurs in the low-voltage rectification and charging output parts.

Analyze the reasons

Reason 1: The fuse tube is blown

Due to the increase in mains voltage, there are very few cases of melting, most of which are caused by overcurrent in the charger. In response to this situation, after replacing the same specification of fuse, a "safe power supply method" must be used to power up the charger. While gradually increasing the input voltage, attention should be paid to whether there is any internal fire or excessive temperature rise in the charger. There are many situations where the fuse tube is blown due to internal reasons of the charger, such as bursting or failure of the high-voltage filtering capacitor, short circuit failure of the high-voltage rectifier diode, short circuit of the switch chip, or short circuit points on the circuit board.
