Introduction: (Keyword: Lithium battery pack) Traditional field ground penetrating testers use lead-acid batteries as mobile backup power sources. Due to the low energy density, heavy weight, low rate discharge efficiency, and non environmental protection of lead-acid batteries, they can no longer meet the needs of modern portable industrial instrument equipment as backup power sources. Due to its unique advantages such as high energy ratio, lightweight, small size, high cycle life, high safety, and high voltage consistency, lithium battery packs have become the preferred alternative to lead-acid batteries in many industrial instrument and equipment fields.
1、 Requirements for backup power supply of ground penetrating tester:
The ground penetrating tester has the requirements of high working voltage, long duration, and special environmental temperature. In terms of lithium battery cells, it adopts domestic leading brands of Bike long-life lithium cells, and uses 6 series and 8 parallel combinations to meet customer related parameter requirements. In terms of lithium battery protection circuit, 6 series of precision hardware protection circuits and 6 series of charging balance circuits are used to achieve the maximum overcurrent of 25A, continuous discharge current of 8A, and charging balance current of 300mA for the finished lithium battery. In terms of working environment, high-end white waterproof box shells are used to meet the waterproof environment requirements of customers. The specific parameters of the combined finished battery are as follows:
1) Design requirements for lithium battery pack model: 18650-6S8P/16Ah/22.2V.
2) Circuit design requirements:
1. Single section overcharge protection voltage: 4.35± 0.25V
2. Single section overcharge recovery voltage: 4.15± 0.50V
3. Single section over discharge protection voltage: 2.70± 0.08V
4. Single section over discharge recovery voltage: 3.00± 0.10V
5. Combination battery overcurrent protection value (10ms): 30-35A
6. Charging balance current: 300± 50mA
7. Charging balance voltage: 4.20± 25mV
8. Battery over temperature protection value (recoverable): 70± 5 degrees
9. The finished battery also has short-circuit and reverse charging protection.
3) Battery cycle life design requirements: 500-1000 cycles (national standard for charging and discharging)
4) Design requirements for battery external dimensions: refer to the outer shell
2、 Design scheme for backup power supply of special ground penetrating tester:
1) Protection Board (PCM): It is mainly a protective circuit designed for rechargeable lithium battery packs. Due to the chemical characteristics of lithium batteries, intelligent power calculation, overcharging, over discharging, short circuit, overcurrent and other protective functions need to be provided to avoid combustion, explosion and other hazards.
2) Protection IC: The main protection function chip of the design scheme, which monitors the online and real-time functions of overcharging, discharging, overcurrent, short circuit, etc. of the battery cells. Ensure that the battery operates within a safe, stable, and efficient range.
3) Charging balance module: During the charging process, the voltage difference between each battery cell is balanced to enhance the consistency of the voltage of each cell and extend the service life of the combined battery.
4) Temperature switch: mainly designed for temperature protection function. When the temperature of the battery itself reaches 75 degrees due to other abnormal issues, the temperature switch will activate to achieve over temperature protection. When the temperature drops, it will automatically recover.
5) 18650 lithium-ion cells/18650/200mAh/3.7V BAK cells (long-life cells).
6) Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET): A MOSFET transistor that plays a switching role in a protective circuit, always ensuring that the voltage at both ends of the load does not increase or decrease, ensuring voltage stability.
