According to the relevant provisions of the "Special Transportation Specification for Lithium Batteries" issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China:

1. When transporting spare batteries or batteries in equipment as luggage, the lithium content of lithium metal or lithium alloy batteries shall not exceed 2g;

2. The rated energy of lithium-ion batteries should not exceed 100Wh;

3. For large lithium-ion batteries with a rated energy greater than 100Wh but less than 160Wh, they can only be carried with the approval of the special operator, but the number of pieces carried should not exceed two.

4. Devices containing lithium batteries can be placed in checked or hand luggage, while backup lithium batteries can only be placed in hand luggage.

Calculation method:

1. Calculation method for rated energy:

A. If the nominal voltage (V) and nominal capacity (Ah) of the battery are known, the value of the rated energy can be calculated:

Wh=VxAh

The nominal voltage and nominal capacity are usually marked on the battery.

B. If only milliampere hours (mAh) are marked on the battery, this value can be divided by 1000 to obtain ampere hours (Ah).

For example, a battery with a nominal voltage of 3.7V and a nominal capacity of 760mAh has a rated energy of:

760mAh ÷ 1000=0.76Ah

3.7V x 0.76Ah=2.9Wh

2. Calculation method for lithium content in lithium batteries:

If the battery is marked with current (mAh), the data can be divided by 1000 and then multiplied by 0.3 to obtain the grams of lithium content in the battery.

For example, if the battery current is 4600mAh, the lithium content is 4600mAh ÷ 1000X0.3=1.38 grams, which is less than 2 grams and meets safety standards.
