According to a technician from a mobile phone repair department, discarded mobile phone batteries and other components contain various harmful substances such as lead, nickel, zinc, cadmium, etc. If discarded without special treatment, it will cause great harm to human health and the environment. So, what should be done with unused or damaged lithium batteries for mobile phones? During a random interview, the reporter found that the vast majority of citizens stated that although they were aware of the hazards of waste mobile phone batteries, they could not find a place to take them for recycling due to the lack of waste mobile phone battery recycling facilities or points.

"Waste mobile phone batteries belong to high pollution sources and should be properly disposed of," said a staff member of the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau in an interview.

At present, there are almost no recycling institutions or relevant laws for used mobile phone batteries in China, from mobile phone manufacturers to sellers, making it difficult to provide targeted guidance and constraints for manufacturers, sellers, and consumer groups. However, there are currently two ways for our city to dispose of waste mobile phone batteries: 1. They can be disposed of at the recycling counter in mobile phone stores; 2. There are green and environmentally friendly bins in each community and street for recycling used lithium batteries for mobile phones, as well as small batteries. These used mobile phone batteries will be handled by professional institutions for sealing.
