How to activate the battery after starving to death? Firstly, it is necessary to clarify what type of battery the starving battery is. At present, the most important types of electric vehicle batteries that starve to death are lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries. Let's take a look at the ways in which these two types of batteries are activated after starvation?

1、 Activation method for starvation of lithium-ion batteries:

1. Overvoltage method.

Try twice or three times the voltage to reactivate the applicable device. Overvoltage refers to: the battery is generally 3.7-4.7V, you can use 6V, but if not, you can use 9V.

Any available batteries or wires should be monitored using a multimeter. If there is no maintenance related experience, it can be exempted. Connect the available batteries in series and charge the batteries with wires facing positive and negative.

2. Freezing method

If the battery cannot be charged, wrap it in paper and then wrap it in a plastic bag. Put it in the refrigerator for a week, take it out and leave it for 2 days. Connect the device and charge it immediately if there is any current until it is fully charged.

3. Wiping method

Regarding the problem of starving to death batteries that are not very serious, use a clean eraser to gently wipe the metal contact surface between the battery and the device. After long-term use, the metal surface of the battery has a certain degree of oxidation, which leads to poor contact and shorter battery life. However, using an eraser can erase the oxide layer on the surface, making the contact between the battery and the device better.

2、 Activation method for starvation of lead-acid batteries

During the charging and discharging process of lead-acid batteries, the substances in the battery will undergo chemical reactions. If not charged for a long time, it will lead to the inability of the substances to activate and the inability to react during charging, which will shorten the battery's service life. If the battery is not charged for a long time, the generated lead sulfate may also penetrate the battery separator, causing a short circuit and causing battery damage. In fact, irreversible sulfation of the battery plates is a common fault in batteries.

1. Connect in parallel to a good set of batteries and charge them with a charger. The operation is to find an equally good battery based on your own battery quantity, plug in a charger to charge for 20 minutes, and observe if the battery is hot. If it is hot, unplug the charger, stop for 1 hour, and then charge again for 20 minutes. Repeat this process for 3 times before fully charging, and it will be normal. However, it should be noted that it should not be charged for more than 4 hours, and then charged in 2 times, so that it can be used normally.

2. First, check if the battery is short of water. If it is short of water, add distilled water and charge it with 1/10 of the rated charging current until it is fully charged. Then, discharge it with 1/10 of the rated capacity until it is fully discharged. After three or four cycles, it can be repaired.

3. Charge with a high-power charger and a high current. If the battery is hot, do not charge it. Continue to charge after the temperature drops, and repeat it several times for 2 to 3 days. There is a certain probability that it can be activated.

However, the above are only suitable for relatively new batteries. If it is an old battery, it is generally reimbursed, after all, if the battery is depleted, its lifespan will be directly shortened by 80%.
