At 17:42 on the 22nd, a truck caught fire 200 meters away from the exit of the Beiliu toll station on the Guangzhou Kunming Expressway. A vehicle of semi-finished lithium batteries was burned, fortunately there were no casualties.

After receiving the alarm, the Yulin Fire Brigade immediately dispatched firefighters and soldiers from the Beiliu and Special Service Squadrons to the scene to put out the fire. The full duty command headquarters of the detachment then dispatched police. At 17:52, Beiliu firefighters rushed to the scene and saw that a truck carrying semi-finished lithium batteries was on fire. The battery in the truck carriage was in a developing stage of combustion, with flames rising several meters high and thick smoke surrounding the entire carriage. Battery liquid occasionally splashed outward.

Since the fire site is located at the exit section of the expressway and there are many vehicles coming and going, the commander immediately organized officers and soldiers to alert the scene to prevent vehicles from approaching the burning vehicle, and put out two foam water guns to extinguish the fire. Subsequently, the full service command center and special service squadron of the detachment arrived at the scene one after another to participate in the firefighting operation.

At 19:5, the fire was extinguished with no casualties. To prevent reignition, firefighters continued to release water, and then used tools such as crowbars, digging axes, and fire hooks to clean up the fire debris in the carriage.

It is understood that the truck caught fire while driving, and the combustible material was semi-finished lithium batteries. At present, the cause of the fire and property damage are under further investigation.
