According to foreign media reports, CATL has signed a battery supply contract with TrailerDynamics, a truck manufacturer headquartered in Aachen, Germany, to provide power lithium battery system solutions for its electric semi-trailers.

According to the agreement, CATL will design, manufacture, and supply battery systems for the first electric semi-trailer, the Newton Trailer, launched by TrailerDynamics in 2023.

Lithium Power Grid has noticed that as early as April this year, CATL announced in the European market that it will expand its development in the commercial vehicle field and bring a brand new LFPCTP (cellular pack) battery.

Now, CATL's CTP-LFP battery "European tour" has landed in Germany.

It is understood that CATL is developing a 300kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, which will use CTP technology and dedicated coolant. By combining liquid cooling technology, battery products can ensure excellent performance in terms of safety, reliability, and a wide operating temperature range.

Ningde Times stated that the application of advanced CTP technology can achieve an energy density of 155Wh/kg for the LFP battery system carried by NewtoneTrailer.
