The commonly used equalization charging techniques for lithium-ion battery packs include constant shunt resistance equalization charging, on/off shunt resistance equalization charging, average battery voltage equalization charging, switch capacitor equalization charging, step-down converter equalization charging, inductor equalization charging, etc. When charging lithium-ion batteries in series, it is necessary to ensure that each battery is evenly charged, otherwise the performance and lifespan of the entire battery group will be affected during use.

1. Add a parallel balancing circuit to each individual battery of the lithium-ion battery pack to achieve the purpose of shunt. In this mode, when a battery first reaches full charge, the balancing device can prevent it from overcharging and convert excess energy into thermal energy, continuing to charge the unfilled battery. This method is simple, but it will cause energy loss and is not suitable for fast charging systems.

2. Before charging, discharge each individual unit one by one through the same load to the same level, and then perform constant current charging to ensure a more accurate equilibrium state between the individual units. However, for battery packs, due to physical differences between individuals, it is difficult to achieve a completely consistent ideal effect after deep discharge of each individual cell. Even if the same effect is achieved after discharge, new imbalances will still occur during the charging process.
