On November 19, Sichuan Xinminya Battery Technology Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Mianyang Municipal People's Government on the commencement of the power battery project with a total investment of 16.6 billion yuan in Santai County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. The total capacity of the project is 15 Gwh, which can meet the battery support of 300000 vehicles after reaching the capacity.

It is reported that the battery project is an industrial project with the largest investment volume in the history of Santai County's investment promotion. The main investor is Weima Automobile Technology Group Co., Ltd.

On September 28, 2018, the first pure electric SUV model of Weima Automobile - EX5 mass production version has entered the formal delivery stage. Weima officials said that it will deliver 10000 vehicles this year, and the delivery target in 2019 is 100000 vehicles. A total of 6 models of 3 endurance versions were launched for new cars. According to the subsidy standard in 2018, the price range after subsidy was 112300 yuan to 164800 yuan (in Beijing).
