The above three parameters are not completely independent. Cells with deep aging have higher internal resistance and more capacity degradation. Separate explanations are only intended to clarify their respective directions of influence.
3. How to deal with inconsistency
The inconsistency in battery cell performance is formed during the production process and deepened during use. Within the same battery pack, the weaker cells remain weak and accelerate to weaken. The degree of dispersion of parameters between individual battery cells increases with the deepening of aging.
Currently, engineers need to consider three aspects when dealing with inconsistent individual battery cells. Single cell battery sorting, thermal management after grouping, and battery management system supply balancing function in case of a small amount of inconsistency.
3.1 Sorting
Different batches of battery cells should not be used together in theory. Even for cells from the same batch, they need to be screened and placed in the same battery pack with relatively concentrated parameters.
