The dream of every new house in Australia being able to use solar energy has taken another step closer. RedEarth, the design and manufacturer of lithium-ion battery energy storage systems in Australia, has signed a multi-million dollar contract with a large housing developer to provide solar energy and batteries to their new home buyers across Australia - participating buyers will also be linked to a high return virtual power plant (VPP).

Charlie Walker, CEO and co founder of RedEarth, stated that this transaction will cover thousands of Australian homes over a period of time, with the first batch of solar powered homes currently under construction.

He has not yet named the developer, but said that more details of the agreement will be revealed soon.

Buyers can choose a solar system with a minimum capacity of 6.3 kilowatts (excluding batteries), or a combination of solar and batteries to fully meet their electricity needs.
