Lithium ion batteries are alternative products to lithium-ion batteries that emerged a few years ago. Its anode uses carbon electrodes, which can absorb lithium ions. Lithium ions move between the positive and negative electrodes, while the electrodes themselves do not change. This is the essential difference between lithium-ion batteries and metal lithium-ion batteries. The positive electrode of lithium-ion batteries is graphite crystal, and the negative electrode is generally lithium dioxide. During charging, the positive electrode lithium atoms ionize into lithium ions and electrons, which move towards the positive electrode and form lithium atoms with electrons. During the discharge process, lithium atoms ionize from the anode surface of graphite crystals to form lithium ions and electrons, which combine at the cathode to form lithium atoms. So, lithium always exists in the form of lithium ions, rather than metallic lithium, so this type of battery is called a lithium-ion battery.

Commercial vehicles are prohibited from using ternary lithium-ion batteries

Before the evaluation is completed, ternary lithium-ion battery buses will be suspended from the list of recommended models for promoting and applying new energy vehicles.

In response to this news, the News Department of the Electric Vehicle Committee of 100 announced that the committee is only a platform and does not represent any party. According to current reports, some companies have also leaked information, and the relevant management departments have suspended accepting the notification of the electric bus, but its authenticity needs to be considered.
