According to foreign media reports on August 22nd, British automaker Ariel plans to unveil a groundbreaking supercar, the Ariel P40, which will become the fastest accelerating and most advanced supercar in history, and plans to enter production in 2020. The acceleration time from 0 to 96 km/h is 2.4 seconds. The chassis and powertrain of the P40 will be jointly developed by three companies and supported by the UK government. The total power can reach 1180 horsepower.

The chassis of the new car is made of aluminum hard shell, and the entire body is covered with carbon coating, weighing approximately 1660 kilograms.

In terms of power, this two seater four-wheel drive version P40 will be equipped with four electric motors, each with a power of 295 horsepower. In addition, a liquid cooled battery pack with a capacity of 42KWh will be installed to improve the vehicle's endurance. The peak torque of the new car reaches 1328 Nm. Combined with a turbocharger, the acceleration time of the new car in the 0-60mph speed range is 2.4 seconds, and the 0-150mph range is 7.8 seconds. The maximum electronic speed limit is 160mph.

It is estimated that the car can travel at full speed for 15 minutes with just 50 minutes of rapid charging. Meanwhile, Ariel also offers a dual wheel drive version equipped with a liquid cooled battery pack with a capacity of 56KWh, but at a relatively low speed.
