Price game intensifies

The main power lithium batteries in China are lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary batteries, with lithium iron phosphate being an important supply for passenger cars and ternary batteries being an important supply for mid to high-end passenger cars. New energy buses have previously led the development of new energy vehicles in China, therefore, lithium iron batteries are the main force in the current domestic battery production. According to data from China's Automotive Technology Research Center, in 2016, the total supporting capacity of lithium iron phosphate batteries in China's production of new energy vehicles was 20.332 billion kWh, accounting for 72.26%, of which 72% were supplied to pure electric buses; The total supporting capacity of ternary batteries is 6.447 billion kWh, accounting for 22.91%, of which 73% is supplied to pure electric passenger vehicles.
Liu Yanlong, Secretary General of China's Chemical and Physical Power Supply Industry Association, told Caijing that in the first half of this year, due to the significant decrease in bus subsidies, the company had to absorb the cost reduction, so bus sales were very low. In terms of the total amount in the past six months, the proportion of ternary batteries has exceeded that of lithium iron phosphate batteries, and it is expected that the proportion of the two will be equivalent throughout the year.
