Precautions for series and parallel connection of lithium iron phosphate battery packs:

1. Do not mix different brands of lithium iron phosphate battery packs, different capacities, or old and new lithium-ion batteries, and choose batteries with consistent performance. When the battery is low, replace all batteries. When using lithium-ion battery packs in series, the same type of battery should be used. Pay attention to the polarity of the battery. If the polarity of one battery is reversed, it will reduce the voltage of the entire battery string instead of adding new voltage.

If different capacities or new and old lithium-ion battery packs are mixed together for use, there is a possibility of leakage, zero voltage, and other phenomena. This is because during the charging process, capacity differences result in some batteries being overcharged, some batteries not overflowing, and some batteries with high capacity not fully discharged during discharge, while those with low capacity are being overcharged. In such a vicious cycle, the battery is damaged and leaks liquid or has a low (zero) voltage.

3. Generally, for the use of series and parallel connection of iron phosphate lithium-ion battery packs, lithium-ion battery cells need to be paired. The pairing criteria are: voltage difference between lithium-ion battery cells; 10mV, internal resistance difference of lithium-ion battery cells≤ 5m, lithium-ion battery cell capacity difference≤ 20mA.

4. Remove the lithium-ion battery pack protection circuit board and see if the battery protection board can be used in your series or parallel circuit. For example, if the previous 4.2V protection board is connected in series to 8.4V, the battery protection board cannot be used anymore.
