The release of Tesla's latest battery production line video showcases its battery production capabilities. Previously, it was questioned that although Tesla is currently researching and developing production processes, it is difficult to predict when this new type of battery will be produced on a large scale.

A senior person in the battery industry told China Business News: "Tesla's innovative cylindrical battery costs less, and it is difficult for other battery suppliers to change their Technology roadmap, which enables Tesla to maintain its original advantage. But it may take Tesla a lot of time to produce new batteries."

Musk also acknowledges that the production of this new type of battery still faces significant uncertainty risks. He believes that it may take about two years for the large-scale production of batteries with this new technology by the super factories in Fremont, California, USA and Shanghai, China.

During this period, Tesla is still strengthening its battery supply cooperation with suppliers. Earlier last year, CATL said that it would supply lithium-ion power lithium-ion battery products to Tesla from July 2020 to June 2022. According to the information previously disclosed by LG, by 2020, LG Chem will be able to supply 30 million power cells to Tesla every month.

Tesla's goal is to rapidly increase battery production to 3000 megawatt hours per year by 2030, which is approximately 85 times the current production of the Nevada plant. The short-term goal is to produce 10 megawatt hours of new batteries at its pilot plant within one year. Currently, Tesla purchases 100 megawatt hours of batteries from suppliers.
